2005

December 23, 2005
Alan Jones and I had our traditional pre-Christmas get-together in the city of Sydney, where it seemed there were a remarkable number of talented guitarists busking! After dinner down at Circular Quay we wound up at the beautifully refurbished Marble Bar, a Victorian pub faithfully rebuilt to all its 1893 glory, where a barefoot band played everything from the Beatles onwards, reggae style!
December 22, 2005
I've added a page of stills from the children's TV drama What kind of life ? in which the pre-Blackfoot Sue band Gift played a starring role, as themselves!
December 15, 2005
I've added a search engine both on this page and on the site map page. It's not a comprehensive index of the site, but it's a start!
December 6, 2005
The Cry Wolf gig list has been updated for December / January.
November 27, 2005
I've done the gig page for the last gig of my August/September trip, at where else but The Six Bells, Brentford! I had a bit of fun with this one... you'll see.
November 4, 2005
The Cry Wolf gig list has been updated for November / December.

How's this for a contrast? Over here there is a local council trying to force the pubs in the area to close early... currently closing time is 5.30am, but they are trying to impose a 2.30am closing time. The pubs are ignoring it! When I was in the UK there was much uproar about so-called "24-hour licencing" though, in most cases, pubs like The Six Bells  were only applying for a modest one hour extension to their current opening hours!
October 27, 2005
The Blackfoot Sue home page has been updated. This one's for you, Tom!
October 16, 2005
There have been a few personal things going on here to deal with, but on Friday night I went to see the state finals of this year's campus band competition. I can hedge my bets, with both the university I studied at and the one I work at being represented, but I rather felt the UTS (University of Technology, Sydney, my alma mater) group were the best on the night.

In the meantime, I've done another gig page: The Bell On The Green (Dave, there's one there of you!).

It's still inexplicably chilly here, despite being mid-October, so I'm getting to wear my lovely London-bought mid-season clothes. The boho look is just hitting its stride here, but I'm waaaaay over that one. :-)

I'm on limited bandwidth for uploads and downloads until the end of the month (thanks to being away, such is the nature of my Internet provider), but there are some website changes and additions in the pipeline.
October 12, 2005
The latest Cry Wolf gig list is in at last. No major changes, just the addition of another visit to Filthy Macnasty's Too in November.
September 6, 2005
A phone call from Gary, with still MORE changes to the Cry Wolf gig list, including the cancelation of both Chertsey gigs. We see a return to a few venues which haven't been played for a while, including The Goldsworth Arms in Woking, plus The Red Cow in West Drayton (formerly known as Jack Beard's). It's a busy couple of months. In fact, if it hadn't been for the cancelation of those 5 gigs, September would have been the busiest month Cry Wolf has played for years.
August 25, 2005
Great news from back in Australia - Alan and his daughter have won their respective football grand finals last weekend - congratulations to the Jones household!
August 22, 2005
I've started work on my new  trip diary, and also put together the first photo page for the trip.
August 20, 2005
There have been quite a few changes to the Cry Wolf giglist for August / September.

August 16 - September 28, 2005
Back in the UK again, and another trip diary is born.
August 8, 2005
Shots from the semi-final on Sunday... Gymea United won 3-2! (Alan is number 10.)
August 3, 2005
The Cry Wolf giglist has been updated for August / September.
July 26, 2005
Thanks to Kevin, I've received photos from the Tribute To Rock concert, held at The Village Hall in Nettleham, Lincolnshire, from October 9 last year.
July 6, 2005
The Cry Wolf giglist has been updated for July / August.
June 11, 2005
Quickie report from Slough, thanks to Eddie: "We had a great night on Saturday at Slough, it was good to see the guys again. The sound was probably the best I've heard!"
June 2, 2005
As Eddie has reminded me, this is the 33rd anniversary of the release of Standing In The Road! Party at my place!
June 1, 2005
The Cry Wolf giglist has been updated for June / July.
May 19, 2005
VROOM VROOM... what a fabulous number plate, but it's $400 annually!!!! Perhaps AFTER I win the lottery.
May 12, 2005
I've replaced the graphic of the Outside Edge album Running Hot with the UK LP cover - the photo on this one is NOT obscured by over-printing.
May 4, 2005
The Cry Wolf giglist has been updated for May / June.
April 27, 2005
It's been a little quiet lately, but there's a new find - a 6 track 7" 45 rpm promo by Liner!
Cry Wolf have been listed on iMuso as a featured band.
April 15, 2005
A "band"* I never thought I'd be seeing again after Dave Mustaine called it a day in 2001, Megadeth always seem to come into my life when I'm living it at hyperspeed, and this time is no exception. They played a venue I'd never been to before, the Roundhouse at Uni of NSW, fascinating for the fact that there's windows around the building, so that you can see right through to the stage from the outside! Of course, I was much closer than that :-) *Dave, of course, is the only person left from the original line-up - I certainly missed not seeing the gorgeous David Ellefson on bass. Intrigingly, his replacement bore more than a passing resemblance to our Gary - not moonlighting on a brief Aussie tour, are we??? ;-)
April 10, 2005
Another jam with Alan, though he was doing most of the playing, including not only playing the left-handed "Scorpion" Washburn upside down, but also taking on my Rickenbacker, and playing THAT pickless and upside down! We still argued about the tuning on the B-string though!
April 8, 2005Me and my beautiful Rickenbacker
The Cry Wolf giglist has been updated for April/May.
March 29, 2005
I've added Sue's review of the January 7 gig at The Red Lion, Twickenham. Better late than never! It truly was a great gig, and fantastic to have Alan and Eddie, Lynn and Josh along too. (Very sad to lose my black suede vest though... someone came away from that gig with a treasured item of my clothing. :-( )
March 2, 2005
The Cry Wolf gig list has been updated, and I'm continuing to add anecdotes to the Blackfoot Sue biography / history pages, including Aggro in Ireland and Arrested at Heathrow. Keep checking those pages, there's still more to come!.

There's also a new photo page - David Farmer - drumming all around the world.
By popular request: me and my beautiful Rickenbacker - and no, this picture is NOT reversed, it's a left-handed bass!!
February 26, 2005
The devil is in the detail - I'm spending a bit of time updating the trip diaries as well as adding in new bits and pieces to the Blackfoot Sue story. In particular, I'm filling out detail for the first trip (September 2003) - it was the one written after the fact, while the latter two were written on the spot, as it were.
February 14, 2005
Why have I got a great big grin on my face? Because I FINALLY have a copy of the first France-only, Outside Edge album. A whole album's worth of new songs is definitely cause for celebration!
February 8, 2005
Still tidying up code, revamping the sitemap, adding more detail to the trip diaries, and finishing off the last few gig pages, before I plunge in to another round of extending the biography / history pages.

The photo pages for the January 8 gig at The Coach & Horses, Isleworth, and the January 14 gig at The Grove Tavern, South Wimbledon have been added.
February 2, 2005
The Cry Wolf gig list has been updated with the February / March dates.
The photo page for the January 7 gig at The Red Lion, Twickenham, has been added.
A photo page has been added for new venue The Barley Mow, Shepperton.
January 31, 2005
You've probably already seen it, but the Blackfoot Sue intro page has been updated :-)
There's also a lot of work going on on the biog pages, including streamlining the code, adding info and adding clearer copies of the original pictures on the pages. It's a lot of work, but I'm really pleased with the results.
January 27, 2005
The page for The Globe Inn, Brentford, is now done. There is a GREAT off-stage shot of the Farmer brothers. Check it out!
P.S. Ronnie, let Stefan know he's on! :-)
January 24, 2005
I've now done the page for my final gig, at The Marne Inn, Bishop's Stortford. It was great fun, a nice way to finish off the binge-gigging for the trip.
January 21, 2005
I'm starting work on the new material and adding it to the website. Check out the band biography part 1 and part 2 and see! Keep coming back, there'll be more all the time. I thank David Farmer from the bottom of my heart for entrusting me with his personal collection of memorablia and making this possible.
January 16, 2005
NEWSFLASH! There's a new gig lined up for Saturday, January 22, at The Barley Mow, Shepperton. Have a great birthday, Phil!
January 13, 2005
Announcing a new feature! On the Cry Wolf gig list page you can now find gigs listed out until December 2005, but a word of caution: changes undoubtedly will occur, so keep an eye on the web page for the current month's list, and always give the venue a call if in doubt.
January 10, 2005
The January / February Cry Wolf gig dates have been added. There are steady additions occuring to the website as I delve into the treasure trove of archive material I have been given access to, and much more to come.
January 5, 2005
I've added some stills from Liner's appearance on Top Of The Pops, performing You And Me.
